ImageTo better serve our community, LASED purchased the Carnival Bar property in 2001 to reduce blight and crime activity in the neighborhood. In 2006, LASED and its many partners including Charter One Bank, Detroit Local Initiatives Support Corporation (LISC), Southwest Housing, and Williams Acosta PLLC, broke ground on its first development project - Vernor/Scotten Partners I.

Vernor/Scotten Partners I is a two building, 12-unit residential and 6,500 sq. ft. commercial project located at 4200-4222 W. Vernor Highway and 1921-1923 Scotten in Detroit, Mich. (see below for pictures.) All of the developed units will be based on the original floor plans existing in the building, as well, the ground floor commercial space fronting on Vernor Highway. The project is scheduled for completion in June 2007.
