LA SED - Latin Americans for Social & Economic Development, Inc. - This Site Is Under Construction

LA SED Senior Center (Ford Motor Company LA SED Senior Center) is aimed at assisting adults 60 years of age or older to maintain an independent lifestyle in their own homes. Older adults meet for social, educational, recreational and cultural purposes in a congenial environment. The Center services seniors living within the LA SED catchment area.

Our staff assists clients through the following services:

• Transportation to and from the center
• Homemaker services: shopping for necessities including groceries
• Light housekeeping tasks, meal preparation, laundry and ironing services
• Choreworker services: minor home repairs and general maintenance services
• Food and Friendship program offering on-site meals Monday - Thursday at 12:00 noon
• Health screening services
• Special activities: arts and crafts, English classes, exercise, history of Detroit, sewing classes, recreational and educational activities are planned throughout the year
• Intergenerational camping program
• Social and emotional support
• Distribution and networking of goods and services

Monday - Friday 9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
